The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) has produced a note on the Divineguma Bill, examining key provisions of the Bill and implications if enacted in its present form. The Bill was first tabled in Parliament in August 2012 and subsequently challenged in the Supreme Court. Media reports indicate the Bill is to be taken for a debate and vote in Parliament in January 2013. The note is presently being translated to Sinhala and Tamil and translations will be available shortly.
