?Role of the Ombudsman? highlights the importance of the office of the Ombudsman in achieving transparency, accountability and good governance. It draws attention to the weaknesses which plagues this office and makes recommendations for strengthening it. It includes a detailed study of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman), a critical analysis of the Role of the Ombudsman in Sri Lanka with some comparisons with South Africa and Reflections on the Role of the Ombudsman in Sweden. The Role of the Ombudsman is the result of a seminar conducted by the Centre for Policy Alternatives.
