In its efforts to promote responsible, accurate and unbiased reporting, particularly during the critical elections the country faced on 2nd April 2004, the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) monitored election related coverage by state and non-state print and electronic media of all three language streams, covering the period 17th February 2004 to 1st April 2004. Monitoring and analysis of election coverage by four Jaffna based newspapers, along with a qualitative analysis of the advertisement campaigns carried out by various political parties during the election period was part of this study. The Final Report of this study can be accessed here.
